For enhanced safety consider drilling the bed side rails to the slats of your bed frame. If your bed frame fits snugly against your mattress you may be able to simply slot the bed guard in place. Always test the fit if you choose not to drill.
The adjustable folding rails can be quickly folded down allowing you to sit on the edge of the bed without removing the entire guard. You can soothe your child back to sleep and then easily flip the barrier back up.
